Ramadan is Coming!

Mereka bersedia DUA TAHUN sebelum peperiksaan. Awal persediaan dibuat, kelak tiada penyesalan di hujung jalan.

Agak normal apabila kita mendengar keluhan pelajar, “Kenapalah aku tak study awal-awal. Kan dah sekarang kerja bertimbun. Arrgghh!!”

So what is it that could make Ramadan spiritually productive? Is it about stopping eating and drinking for a month, the number of acts of ritual worship and good deeds you can cram into a day or is it about achieving a positive spiritual result from whatever you do?

So how can you ensure that you are spiritually productive in this blessed month? There are four factors that you need to make sure are present in all you do:

1. Purpose

-Allah (Subahanahu Wa Ta’la) tells us that: “All the deeds of Adam’s sons (people) are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

-So fasting should be performed solely for the sake of Allah, because He has asked you to do it.Your intention should be clear, not just on your lips or in your thoughts, but deep in your heart too.

-So while you are fasting remember Allah often and remember also that you are doing it to please Him.

2. Priority

-There are so many things that you could do to increase your connection at this time, from acts of worship to good deeds; the list can be overwhelming to a new Muslim.

-If you try to do everything on the list, you’ll just wear yourself to a frazzle. You may tick everything on the checklist, but will it have been productive in achieving the aim of your Ramadan?

-Work out which deeds you need to begin to practice or improve on that will please Allah the most.

3. Quality

-If you try to do everything that everyone suggests, you’ll end up doing a lot of things, badly. It’s not the quantity but the quality of what you do that will enable you to achieve positive spiritual results from Ramadan.

4. Consistency

-One of the greatest pieces of advice given by the Prophet was: “The most beloved actions to Allah are those performed consistently, even if they are few.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
